We are a Cusco-based company—100% local!
The Humantay Lake Full-Day Tour is perfect for nature lovers who have limited time but still want to experience spectacular landscapes filled with unique flora and fauna. Along this hiking adventure, you will encounter beautiful valleys, natural waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, and one of the most important lakes—Humantay—considered a sacred mountain in Inca mythology.
We begin with hotel pickup in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m., then travel by tourist transportation to the town of Mollepata (2,900 m.a.s.l.). The journey takes approximately 2 hours, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast and have time to prepare for the hike.
Afterward, we continue by transportation for about one more hour to the community of Soraypampa (3,900 m.a.s.l.) along an unpaved road. Upon arrival, we will get ready to begin our hike, which takes approximately 1 hour to reach Humantay Lake (4,200 m.a.s.l.).
During the hike, you will enjoy stunning landscapes, including views of the impressive snow-capped Salkantay Mountain and the majestic Humantay Mountain (5,450 m.a.s.l.), part of the Vilcabamba mountain range in the Andes. The hike covers approximately 2 km.
After exploring the area and taking in the breathtaking views, we will begin our return hike to Soraypampa. Along the way, you will also have views of the sacred Salkantay Mountain (6,271 m.a.s.l.), the second highest peak in the Cusco region.
Once back in Soraypampa, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch before boarding our transportation back to Cusco. We will arrive in Cusco at approximately 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., with the final drop-off near the main square (Plaza de Armas).
This concludes our unforgettable 1-day Humantay Lake hike.
It is very important for us to have your hotel information in the city of Cusco, so we can pick you up from there at the start of the tour.
