This program provides all safety measures and comfortable transportation in excellent condition to Rainbow Mountain, along with highly qualified staff who ensure a safe and enjoyable hike. We also include a balanced breakfast and lunch designed for this journey.
Hotel pickup is between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. We then travel by transportation to the community of Cusipata via a paved road for approximately 2 hours, where we will enjoy breakfast.
Afterward, we continue along the Cusipata route for about 30 more minutes until we reach the community of Chillihuani. Along the way, we will pass through picturesque locations such as Tintinko and Río Tigre, and observe Surina Mountain from the Llacto area. We will also pass a municipal checkpoint in Cusipata, where you can see local flora and fauna in their natural habitat, including llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas.
We then continue for approximately 20 minutes along an unpaved road to reach the starting point of our hike. Once ready, we begin our adventure toward Rainbow Mountain, hiking for about 1.5 hours. Along the route, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Red Valley, snow-capped Ausangate Mountain, and small lagoons, before finally reaching the spectacular Rainbow Mountain, where you will have time to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
Afterward, we descend back to the starting point (approximately 1.5 hours), where our transportation will be waiting for us. We then return by vehicle to Cusipata, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch, and finally head back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
