The Sacred Valley Full-Day Tour takes you to one of the most peaceful and breathtaking regions in Peru, nestled between the golden slopes of the Andes. This stunning valley is home to charming colonial towns, traditional weaving villages, the Urubamba River, impressive Inca agricultural terraces, and ancient Inca temples.
The tour begins with hotel pickup at 8:30 a.m., followed by a scenic drive to the Sacred Valley. About 1 hour north of Cusco, we will arrive at the impressive archaeological complex of Pisac, along with its modern colonial town. In Pisac, you can visit the traditional artisan market, which we highly recommend if your visit falls on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday.
We will continue the journey through small towns such as Calca, Coya, and Yucay until reaching Urubamba, where you will have time for lunch. Afterward, we will visit the town and archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, a typical Inca town whose layout and the foundations of most of its buildings date back to Inca times, when it served as an important military, religious, and agricultural center.
Next, we will return to Urubamba and then head to Chinchero, another town of Inca origin. In its main square, you will see a large Inca wall decorated with trapezoidal niches, as well as one of the most important colonial churches in Cusco, featuring baroque altars and extensive mural paintings.
After the visit, we will return to the city of Cusco.
